Using a VLE to support Blended Learning
Blended learning is the idea of having a mixture (or blend) of face to face and online provision, with the key being to get that blend right. Dave Foord has extensive experience of using these principles both in his teaching, and in helping other providers to move into this area of work.
This session looks at how online learning activity can be constructed within the VLE in a way that guides the learners through the activity, and moving away from just using the VLE as a dumping ground for files and links.
Principles covered in this session will also make the use of the VLE more accessible to disabled learners, will make the VLE work better on mobile devices and will show how existing content on the internet can be quickly and legally brought together to create media-rich, engaging and challenging learning.
This session assumes that staff have basic IT skills, and works best if attendees have a topic in mind that they wish to create an area for.
This session is very heavily bespoke to meet the needs of the organisation, the subject area in question, and the specific VLE available to use.
