Sport and disability - integration and adapting techniques
Many people are scared of running sporting activities for disabled people for fear of injury or illness, some people think that disabled people don't want to be competitive! This session looks at some simple principles for adapting sports to make them more accessible and safer whilst maintaining competitiveness and challenge.
Attitudes and Advocacy
A lot of training sessions regarding disability, will either look at the legal aspects of disability, or the medical approach to this area of work. The most important part of working with disabled people is having positive attitudes. This session explores and investigates peoples attitudes, prejudices and viewpoints, and helps them to develop a more positive attitude towards disabled people.
